Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

Part I: Privacy Policy

How we handle your data and protect your privacy.

1. Introduction

AeroLog ("we," "our," or "the App") is a digital maintenance logbook application developed by Eduardo Flamenco. We utilize a "zero-knowledge" architecture: we do not collect, store, or mine your personal data on our own servers.

2. Data Storage & Platform Differences

AeroLog stores data locally on your device, with platform-specific sync options:

  • iOS/iPadOS: Data is stored using SwiftData. If enabled, data syncs to your personal, encrypted iCloud container. We have no access to this container.
  • Android: Data is stored locally in an encrypted database. There is no automatic cloud synchronization. Data remains on the device unless manually exported by the user.

3. Camera Usage

We use the camera for the Intelligent Scanner (OCR) and for attaching photos to parts. All image processing happens locally on your device. No video or images are sent to external servers for analysis.

4. Analytics & Tracking

We do not use third-party analytics (like Google Analytics) and we do not display ads. We respect your "Do Not Track" settings.

5. Data Portability (Import/Export)

The Import/Export feature allows you to create manual backups of your database. These files are stored in your device's file system or a location of your choosing. You are solely responsible for the security and storage of these exported files.

Part II: Terms of Use

The rules and agreements for using AeroLog.

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading or using AeroLog, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.

2. Use License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use AeroLog for your personal or professional maintenance logging purposes.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.

3. Important Aviation Disclaimer

AeroLog is a supplementary utility tool. Unless explicitly certified by your local aviation authority (e.g., FAA, EASA), this App does not replace official, legal maintenance logs or airworthiness records.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your maintenance records comply with all applicable regulations. The Developer assumes no liability for the accuracy or legal validity of the data you maintain within the App.

4. Responsibility for Data

On Android, there is no automatic cloud backup. You are responsible for manually exporting and backing up your data. The Developer is not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, app deletion, or forgotten passwords.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties regarding the reliability, stability, or availability of the App or any synchronization services.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Developer be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit) arising out of the use or inability to use the App.

7. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States.
